Five Question Friday- July 4th Weekend

It's Friday!! I am so excited that the weekend is
near. This is just the beginning of many more full weekends
for my family.
Dontcha just love the holidays?
Summer holidays are fun!

1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?
Having no responsibilities and hanging out with my brother's. I never thought I would miss being around my sibling's but I really do. My older brother only lives an hour away but with his busy work schedule as a power plant Operation's manager and his two childrens' busy lifestyles we don't see each other but at holidays and some of the kids birthdays. My younger brother lives seven hours away and I see him twice a year, once when I make the long drive and the other at Christmas when he and his family drive here. We don't talk on the phone too often and I miss the relationships we had as children. When you grow up and marry you begin a new life and siblings are just that...sometimes.

2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?
Yes, I have a few that I keep in touch with via facebook messages since they don't live close by. I have a handful that I speak to on a regular basis and we go to each others parties, houses and get together's. One of my friends who I lost touch with is now one of my closer friends again.

3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?

"Baby Got Back" I get this vision, of a big fat round booty. Nuff said. "Cool Beans" Do you remember that one? Well that one does NOT drive me bonkers but I I used to say that one ALL the time and now I can't even breathe that one.

4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America...besides "Old Glory"?

I thought of these soldiers from WWII. Soldiers in general make me think of the USA and our pride for the men who serve our country and protect us. And how fitting that this photo has the Bald Eagle, another reminder of America. Every time I see one of those majestic birds I think of the USA.

5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?

Friday: date night with the hubs. dinner and a movie.
Saturday: taking the kids to a birthday party for a little girl who is the daughter of a friend who's birthday is actually July 4th. Hubs is going to the Daytona 400 or whatever they call it now Saturday night!
Sunday: a kick butt 4th party at my friend's house with a 30' water slide, jello shots, grilling, drinking, fireworks and lots of food!! I LOVE their parties!
Monday: my hubs surprised me and he is off sooo we're taking the kiddos to the beach!!

Hey there Tiffany!Have a great 4th of July! I love the new look of your blog! Grabbing your new button! I agree about being a child and simply enjoying life with no responsibilities. It gets harder as we get older. A lot of stress and worries. Have fun on your date night! I hope you have fun at the beach also!
