Meal Plan Monday 02/14

Meal Plan Monday again! I did rally well last week with only missing one of my nights and having to substitute with frozen pizzas. I do have an excuse, I am fighting off a cold and I had no energy to do anything let alone cook. The hubby wanted to order pizza, but I am trying to stick to my budget and not go out to dinner so we ate our previously purchased pizzas. So all the dinners last week go shuffled by one day and we missed having our chicken alfredo.
We ate a late lunch on Sunday afternoon at Olive Garden so we skipped having our steaks on Sunday night.

Monday: Grilled Ribeyes, grilled shrimp, pirogies, corn and garlic bread
Tuesday: Baked Chicken Teriyaki, mashed potatoes and steamed green beans
Wednesday: Mexican Pasta Skillet, garden salad, bread
Thursday: Crispy Baked Chicken, steamed vegetables and brown rice
Friday: Cowabunga Beef Burgers with coleslaw and home made french fries
Saturday: Mini meatloaves, new potatoes, fiesta corn
Sunday: Slow cooker beef stew, baked bread

Meal Plan Monday

I have been a meal planner and usually throw in one extra item in my grocery cart, like a few frozen pizzas just in case I have to change up a night that was planned or something out of the ordinary happens and we need a quicker meal. I always have over stock of non perishable or frozen foods in the house, since I am a sale and BOGO shopper when it comes to groceries. It's easier to grocery shop for the vegetables and meats when I plan out a weekly menu.
So here goes.

Monday: Cowabunga Beef Burgers with Yummy Yammy Fries
Tuesday: Kid Pleasing Spaghetti
Wednesday: BBQ Chicken, mashed potatoes, corn
Thursday: Homemade French Toast, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs with cheese
Friday: Pasta Alfredo with Mushrooms and Broccoli
Saturday: dinner out (going to the Budweiser Shootout in Daytona)
Sunday: leaving this one in the air because it is February 13th and the day before Valentines, possibly Grilled Ribeyes, Pierogies, Grilled Shrimp, Salad and Bread

A place in my heart

Do you ever wonder who your "real" friends are? I don't think about it too much because it might be just a waste of time. I have had a few recent incidents that gave me reason to reflect on this subject. My sister in law is turning 30 this month and I wanted to make sure the day was celebrated with friends. When I turned 30 four years ago she threw me a party at her house which really was special for me. She invited a few a my friends and several of her friends. I thought the least I could do was try and give her the same kind of thing.
I called her husband about what he had planned and pretty much as far as he had gotten was getting a sitter and going to dinner. I was hoping to keep my ideas a secret but he spoke to her about it. So she and I exchanged some text messages about ideas and she wasn't sure our friends would come. I asked her why not and she said they didn't come to her party last year. I told her " you plan the party, invite them and if they don't come, then eff em." (MY exact words) I told her that they have done the same crap to me. But when the tables are turned and they invite us to something they EXPECT us to show up. And if we don't we get the guilt trip. Friends don't treat friends like that.
I have come to realize, well.. I've known this for awhile...they are not TRUE friends. It really doesn't matter to me anymore. Years ago I would have wept that these people didn't like me and I was lonely and would have done anything to hang with them. Not anymore. I don't have time to waste on petty crap. I think when I met these "friends" that they were different people or at least I thought they were different people and since the years have gone by I have grown apart from them.
It's like that poem..Friends for a reason, a season, a lifetime a year. You know the one? They were stepping stones. They were there when I needed them and they needed me. I have found many more friends and great people from being friends with them. I would not have met two of my best friends if I had not met them. It was meant to be. It's funny how things like that happen.
I have found some real friends through the paths and relationships with other friends. The old friends will not be forgotten, for they will always have a place in my heart, just not on the top anymore.

Monday Minute:Oct over?

Is the weekend really over? I can't believe that October
is almost over and this is the last week of it.
In forty one days I will be on a plane
heading to Colorado for a week long family vacation.
It seems like only yesterday I bought plane tickets
for this trip.
Time for some Monday Minute.
Won't you play along?
The questions.......

1.Have you ever been hospitalized? Other than giving birth to two babies, nope. I did go into the emergency room when I was having chest pains that could have been my gall bladder but after a barrage of tests, nothing was confirmed. I was sent home with some medicine and stayed away from spicy foods and it cleared up.

2.What’s the last bit of good news you received? That the cabin we will be staying in for 3 days while in Colorado will be free of charge. I am going to CO to visit my cousin and her family ( my aunt and uncle and other cousin as well) and staying with her and the cabin is owned by a family friend of hers. It is very generous of her friend to allow us to use it to stay in the mountains a few days. I can't wait to enjoy the weather, the company and freedom.

3. Who was your favorite teacher? I can't name just one. I had several that made an inspiration in my life like my 3rd grade teacher who gave me courage or my 6th grade teacher who showed me that it's okay to be different. Or my 7th and 8th grade art teacher who allowed my passion for art to come through or my 10th, 11th and 12th grade math teacher who let me shine in my favorite subject-math! Can you tell I loved school for what it was, learning. ?

4. Do you sing in the shower? Sometimes. I prefer to sing in the car, along with the radio. My kids laugh at me, they think I'm silly.

5. Describe the happiest day of your life. I could say the day my babies were born, but choosing one over the other is not possible because each of those days were blessings. One of the happiest days besides the obvious, was spending Easter Sunday this year. I had an amazing time watching both my children hunt for Easter eggs in my parents backyard. Little E was old enough to get the hang of egg hunting and watching he and Miss K laugh, run and enjoy the excitement of it was truly a fabulous day.

Monday Minute: The Fun Never Ends

What does not kill us only makes us stronger.
I have no idea who said that, but it's true.
On a lighter note, this is the last week of Monday Minute hosted by
Ian at DDoR. You're the bomb!
And this week we have the
fabulous Laura, The Purseblogger as co hostess.
Yep, she's pretty fabulous and if you've never
been to her site, I suggest you check it out!

This week's questions:

1.Have you ever lied on one of your Monday Minute answers? no. If I didn't want to tell about something I just didn't participate in that week. If I'm going to answer a question it's going to be truthful. What have I got to hide?

2.What is on your bedside table? I do not have a bedside table, I have a bookcase on my side of the bed. My husband's side of the bed has one and his alarm clock, weather radio and lamp are on it.

3. Lose your sight or hearing? I'd lose my sight. I would get one of those seeing eye dogs, they're so cute. I would be sad to miss my hearing because spoken words mean so much more.

4. Would you rather give up all kinds of sexual contact for one full year or give up your DVR for three months? I'd give up my DVR anyday because there is NO WAY I am giving up sexual contact for even one day let alone a year.

5. Name one thing that you are proud of that you've accomplished in your life. Becoming a mother, twice. Having a child is one thing, raising it and being a good role model and caregiver is a completely different thing. I like to believe that I am being ALL those things.

Monday Minute: A little late

Monday Minute

This week's edition of the Monday Minute hosted by Heather and Melissa
with Guest Hostess Jules

1. If you could interview any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be? What would you ask? I am so stumped on this one because choosing ONE person is really hard. There are so many great famous dead people. Okay, I racked my brain on this one....Alfred Hitchcock. I would ask him if he ever wrote any books or movies that were ever unpublished. I would also ask him where he came up with his ideas for his movies. And did his movies represent anyone or events that happened in his life.

2. You have to give up one thing for a month. What would it be - car, guilty pleasure (ie. food, drink, fav. tv show), or sex? I would give up drinking my iced tea. I could handle that more than giving up my van or my favorite tv show and I LOVE food so that is not happening.

3. Is there a word/phrase you say that you are made fun of for? If so, what is it?
The only one I can think of is " Surrender the Fantasy". It is not my phrase, it's something my best friend says and I say it and I don't say it with enough sarcasm so I get laughed at when I say it. lol!

4. Which is a stronger emotion: Anger or Love? I would say anger. Because for me, anger is deep set and and when some one becomes very angry they can become enraged. Rage is higher version to anger and can become uncontrollable.

5. Where was your first job?
I worked as grocery bagger at Publix supermarket at the age 15.

First Day Back

Ready to go on the first day of second grade
Back pack-check
Lunch Box-check
New Outfit-check
New shoes-check
Prepared to wake up early- not checked

Looking for friends while we wait
for the teacher

Picking up Miss K after school
she tells me "mom, get in the parent pick up
line earlier next time. I thought you weren't coming"
if it was only that easy. It was pure chaos!
The city police were directing traffic and making it worse!!
I was directed away from the school entrance the first time
and told I would have to loop around and come back again!!
Let's just say tomorrow I will try to get there earlier.

Monday Minute- After The Party 2

After my LONG busy weekend of parties, birthdays,
surprises, tattoo parlors and bowling alleys
I am looking forward to a crazy, busy Monday morning
of taking kids to school!

This upcoming Monday Minute is co-hosted by the Anywhoodle NOLA Queen, Kimber!
She wrote all five questions. {Word}

1.If you could have plastic surgery, would you? If so, what would you get done? Yes I would have plastic surgery. If I had enough money I would have lipo on my stomach and thighs, a tummy tuck, breast implants, a face lift and some botox on my crows feet.
2.
What laws have you broken? Besides speeding and running the occasional red light when I mis- calculate a yellow light, not too much else.

3.What is your quirkiest habit? Straightening the pillows on my couch and smoothing the lines on the cushions. I cannot leave the house without fixing my couch! Weird, I know.

4. If you only had 3 songs to listen to for the rest of your life what would they be? Amazing Grace: Because it brings me back to my roots; There You Are: Because this is my wedding song; Hey Soul Sister: Because I'll need a pick me up song!

and finally...

5.How often do you have sex? 1-2 times a day.

Monday Minute-08/02

It's time for some Monday Minute with Ian

I have been slacking and haven't linked up in awhile so
I'm proud to present some Q&A
for Monday!

Monday Minute

Cohost this week is Jenn from Brown Eyed Girl

1. Describe your life in one word. fulfilling

2. Is there something you wish you had learned how to do as a child? gymnastics. I was and still am not able to do cart wheel, back bend or round off. It would have been fun.

3. Who has been the biggest influence on your life? God. He has been my guide, support, rock and father. I can turn to him when I'm at my lowest and when I am on my highest mountain. I try every day to be a better person in light of my father the Lord.

4.What is your greatest dream/hope/aspiration? To go back to college and get a Bachelor's degree in social science, psychology. I am interested in how the mind works and I wanted to be a cop to be a detective or investigator but I never wanted to deal with guns and criminals. But my interest is in the mind and what makes people tick.

and finally...

5.Do you believe you have reached your potential? Why/why not? As a wife and mother, I would say so far. But for myself, see the above answer. I am not there yet. I have not reached my full potential in my faith because I am a work in progress, we all are.

New Friend Friday, Follow Me Chicka Dee and Friendly Follow

I have been away from my blogging all weekend and have not been
able to respond back to all your comments and
have not been able to follow back to others.
I had some personal family issues to deal with
that are first and foremost important.
I should be back to my regular blogging style by the weekend.
I am okay and need to spend some time repairing and
taking care of what needs to be done.
I will update more and write a post explaining what has been
going on.
I love you all and hope you understand.

Blog Bash 2010

Blog Bash

I stopped for a moment and thought about "what would I be doing if I
wasn't blogging or if I never knew this world exisited?"
It's hard to really wrap my mind around that.

How it all started

My cousin had a blog
and she invited me several times to come read her blog.
I stopped in a few times and thought oh, that's cute.
Then I broke down in October 2008 and created My Crazy Kind of Wonderful.
I didn't even think very long about the name for it. When you've got
two kids under the age of 5
and you're working full time and trying to be a full time mommy
well that's just a crazy, wonderful part of life.
It just popped in my head. I'm a go with your gut kind of girl and
when my gut tells me something
then I know it's a good thing.
I started blogging to show off photos of my children and talk about what was
going on in our lives.
I really got active in my blogging this year.
The economy had gotten slow and work was pretty boring during the
mornings. I started blog surfing and found some great blogs to read.
I participated in a couple weekly carnivals and it opened my creative side back up.
I found myself writing more posts, reading more blogs from fellow bloggers
and it started coming full circle.
I am blogging for me.
because I love to write and I'm not getting paid
for it and who cares if what I say isn't right but I like it.
And it's ALL MINE.
It's a wonderful feeling.
The biggest reward I get from blogging is the support and friendship from
fellow blog friends. People that I feel I know so well without really
knowing them in real life are some of my best
friends. They don't judge me or critisize me.
We know each others strengths and weaknesses
and we're not afraid to spill out how we feel.
I love the honesty, compassion and encouragement.

My name is Tiffany, I am a mother to two, wife to one
and this is my blog.
I love taking photographs of my silly kids, laughing at my nutty husband
and cuddling with my houseful of animals.
I find joy in making my kids happy and cooking meals from
scratch. I am always on the look out for a bargain, a new recipe
and jeans that make me look skinny.
I am embracing my life now as a stay at home mom in my 30's
and revamping the look of Betty Crocker.
Pull up a comfy chair or car seat or whatever you have handy and
relax and stay awhile.

Why don't you join me?

Monday Minute-BBB Edition

Monday Minute
I'm linking back up this week with Ian
at The Daily Dose of Reality and some Monday Minute. Continuing the co-hosts,
this week it's Jana from http://boobiesbabiesblog.blogspot.com/

BWS tips button

The Questions.....

1. Has anyone you've known personally lived to at least 100? no one that I personally know has lived that long. I know a few people in their ninety's so maybe one day.
2. What material possession do you value the most? my iPhone. I LOVE my cell phone naturally but I really, really love my iPhone. It does so much and I would be lost without it. It's my camera when I leave mine at home, it's a voice recorder when I want to send a message to my kids, it also is my babysitter while in the restaurant when I need a quick game for the kids. It's versatile, I wouldn't leave home without it.
3. What do you think happens to us after we die? That our soul leaves our earthly body and we make our way to meet our maker. We do not immediately go to heaven or hell until we are judged. After we are held accountable for our actions on earth we will we be sent to our eternal place. This is my summary of how it will be, in no way am I saying I know the answers, so please no criticism.
4. Most embarrassing item in your house? My carpets. I have dogs, enough said. No, it is not stained because I own a carpet cleaner but the builders grade carpet has not held up at all and has needed replacement two years after I bought the house. and finally...

5. If you could rename yourself, what would your name be? I like the name Danielle. It's a strong and powerful name. The meaning is "God is my Judge" and is so fitting for me.

Not Me! Monday- Starting off Right

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday a blog carnival created by McKMama. You can head over to her blog and read what she and everyone else has not been doing this week after you read mine.

It's been several weeks since I have done a Not Me! and I need
to get a few of my Mommy Fail moments off my chest. We all have them and I'm admitting
or not to some of them from the first week of summer vacation.

I did not feed my kids a dinner of McDonald's at the car dealership on Friday night
in the lounge while my husband and I purchased our new van. Nope, not me! I did
also did not let my kids run down the hallway adjacent to the finance manager's office
screaming, squealing and barefoot. I would never allow my kids to act
so wildly in public in hopes that it might make the guy move a little faster. Nope, Not me!

I did not fail all week on keeping Little E on his regularly scheduled nap time and settle
for any nap when ever he took one. I did not try to wear him down running in the splash pad
and then decide we should run into a store after he passed out in the car.
Nope, not me. I would never interrupt my child's nap for a quick errand.

I did not decide that while my husband was going to be night fishing that
it would be great to have my 5 year old niece over for a sleepover. I did not actually
follow through with my threats of separating the girls when it was midnight and
they were still giggling and talking in bed.
After all why would I have a sleep over on a Saturday night, knowing that we have church
the next day. I would never plan a sleepover knowing that. Not me!

I did not bribe the girls with strawberry shortcake in hopes that they would finish
their dinner in reasonable time and then remember after they have gone
to bed that they didn't get their treat. I would never make a deal and not
follow through with it. I am a better mom than that!

I did not give in and let Little E climb into bed with my husband and I at midnight
last week. I would never co sleep with the kids because I love being smooshed, squished,
elbowed in the eye, poked and smacked all evening while trying to sleep. I always
march my children back to their beds because they need
to learn that they have their own bed to sprawl out in.
I would never give in because I just didn't have the energy or willpower to fight my child.
Nope NOT Me!!

I did not text my husband and ask him when he'd be home from having lunch
with his dad on Saturday. I also did not ask him if he could get home so I could take
a nap before he left for his fishing trip so I could survive the late night with the girls.
I would never ask him to cut his time short so I could benefit from a nap.
No way! Not Me!
I did not get my punishment from this nap in the form of
all three children eating an entire can of cheddar pringles in the living room
which forced me to vacuum chip pieces from the carpet and wiping down the
glass on the coffee table. Nope, not me!

What mommy fail moments did you have this week?

Monday Minute-06/14

This week the Monday Minute hosted by Ian at The Daily Dose of Reality
is being held with Kmama over at The Daily Dribbles

1 - What's the specs of the first computer you owned?
I couldn't even begin to tell you. I think the first computer my parents bought
was an IBM some or another. My first one that my husband
got for us was a Sony Vio.

2 - Are you on Twitter/Facebook/etc, if so link it/them up
My screen name for Twitter is (mrstdrapp), I wish now that I had made
the name up after my blog because it's my personal Tweet account. I have
a FB account but I'm linking it.

3 - Who's more to blame for the oil mess in the gulf - BP or the Gov't and why?
Both. I believe in free enterprise so I'm against the government controlling and
telling business what they should and shouldn't so. But when a business affects the lives
and safety of billions of people, the government should have some control
over how some business practices are dealt. BP should have been required to have fail safe
measures in place if any of their wells were to leak. But no and the government allowed them
to drill offshore and even pushed for the people to vote for more off shore drilling
and it's coming back to bite us in the butt.

4 - What's your favorite Dr. Suess book?
"Are You My Mother?"
I loved that book among many of the Dr. Suess books. They were my
favorite to read as a child. I had so many of them.

And finally...

5 - What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I had never
decided if I wanted to take care of large animals or
small. I even started college after high school to pursue my
career as a vet but I quit to pursue my love life instead.

Now it's your turn!!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday a blog carnival created by McKMama. You can head over to her blog and read what she and everyone else has not been doing this week after you read mine. I haven't written one of these in awhile, but after this weekend I confess that there are quite a few things that I have not been doing.

I did not check my phone several times on the seven plus hour drive to Pensacola and kill the battery and I did not blow the fuse in my mom's car when I tried to plug in my car charger.

After eating a full sized dinner at Sonny's BBQ I did not drive over to a Starbuck's Coffee and get a Venti Cafe Vanilla Frappucino with 2 extra shots of coffee flavor. I never indulge in that many calories in an hour. Nope, not me!

I did not let the kids stay up late the first night at the hotel after arriving at our destination at 11pm. I would never allow them to do that. Nope, not this mom!
I am an organized mom. I always have a prepacked bag with enough swim diapers, floaties and change of clothing in case of an emergency when going swimming. I would never forget all those items and be forced to leave a birthday party to drive around a town aimlessly to find a particular type of floaties. I am not that anal and am always willing to settle for second best.

I always make sure that my kids eat a nutritional meal at a respectable time. I would never pick up McDonald's at 9:00pm after my child consumed birthday cake and a hot dog at 5pm. I never let them eat fast food that late. Not me!

I did not sit on the floor in a hotel laundry room at 10 o'clock at night with my kids waiting on laundry we decided to wash last minute to avoid dirty clothes for our trip back home. Nope, not me! I am not that crazy.

I did not fall asleep at my brother's house while my sister in law and nephew opened up his birthday presents today ( the day after his party) because my stomach was in a lot of pain. Not me, I am better at holding myself together and don't give in to my aches.

I did not ask my husband to wash some laundry for me at home, while I am out of town so I won't have to have that to deal with when I get back Monday night. Not me! I never ask anyone to do my chores.

Monday Minute-*snort* Edition

This week Ian's Monday Minute *Snort* Edition is dedicated to our friend Daffy, who lost her big sister a few days ago. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

1 - Do you *snort*?
I snort when laughing about something really funny. I get embarrassed but it happens so often I've learned to live with my *snort*.

2 - Our friend, has a nickname and it's Daffy. What's your nickname?
I have a few, it depends on who you are. My nieces and nephews call me Aunt Teenie. My friends and my brothers call me Tiff.

3 - Do you know sign language?
nope. Well unless you consider charades sign language. It works well.

4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?
Me: "Wow. This waitress sucks."
K2: "I know. We should've put our 3rd order in when we put the second one in."
Me: "The kids are losing it. What they hafat do? Slaughter the cow and chickens?"
K2: "The kids are circling the drain."
Me: "Circling the drain?"
K2:"They're going down...."
Me: "Tell me about it. I think mine are down the pipe."

5- Do you sleep with electronic devices - i.e. laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, etc?
I don't take my phone to bed (unless my husband is out of town hunting). I do have to either have the tv on or radio to go to sleep.

Mission Monkey: Monday Minute

This week I'm trying something new, Monday Minute currently renamed Monkey Minute hosted by The Daily Dose of Reality.
I found Ian's blog from Mission Monkey where he is organizing a raffle to raise money for Monkey's medical bills. If you haven't read the story please follow the link and read about this baby girl. She needs all our prayers, support and love.

MISSION: MONKEY

Photobucket

The rules are simple. Copy his questions. Answer them. Link back to Ian’s blog.

This week's questions are:

1. Have you ever peed in the shower/bath/pool? Sure who hasn't done this as a child. I'm sure I've peed in the tub, pool, bath and shower.

2.What is your biggest pet peeve? The lack of intelligence in people while driving. I complain so much about the way people drive (something that I really need to work on because my children are beginning to ask who I'm talking to) that I would love to get out and show them how to drive! Where did these people get their license from?
3.What's the story behind your blog title? When I started my blog in 2008 I had two children under the age of 5. Raising two kids, working full time and everything else in between can be a crazy but fulfilled life but also wonderful. My life is My Crazy Kind of Wonderful
4.What is your definition of success? Success is attaining one's goal. My goal is to raise God loving, well mannered, well rounded children with good values. I will be a successful mother if I raise my children to the best of my abilities to be the best they can be.

5. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I always wanted to be a writer or journalist. I used to write poems and short stories when I was growing up. I would want to be a famous, well known New York Times Best Seller novelist.

Not Me! Monday

I would never smack my husband's arm when he turned his iPhone to a game during church service. Not me! Then after he tried to attempt the same game again, thinking he resolved the sound problem, snap out his name during service.

I did not bring a 120zbag of M&M's, that I bought for $2.47, to the movies on Sunday to avoid that $5.50 6oz bag. Nope not me. And I did not tell my kids to be quiet about the same bag that I had hidden in Little E's drink bag. No....I would never be a dishonest person and involve my kids in it.

I did not bring a paper lunch bag to the same movie and pour part of my large popcorn in it for my daughter and husband. The same large popcorn that gets a free refill. I did not munch down the rest of that bag with Little E and go get my free refill to share with my kids. I would never consume that many calories. haha!!

I did not listen to my husband when he wanted to use the escalator instead of the elevator because we had Little E in his small stroller while at the mall. I did not disregard the warning sign at the bottom of the escalator and get on anyways. I did not freak out at the top when the stroller wheel caught at the edge of the floor and and gave me trouble trying to get off. I would never take the stroller on the escalator.

*Note*After the escalator episode..we used the elevator the rest of the time at the mall. Even though it was a pain in the butt and we searched and searched for one in JcPenney. Which they hid back in the men's department.
