5QF: Sleep is not OVER RATED

Wow. I can't believe that it's Friday already. Where has this week gone? It's like a 5 day weekend for me! I usually have to work on Tuesday but my parent's are closing their business for the holiday. It's going to be a busy weekend with birthday parties (yes, more of those) and cookouts! Then another short week for me and then next Friday I leave at noon to go out of town for weekend retreat of scrap booking! A weekend all to MYSELF! I am excited about having some ME time, I don't know if I'll know what to do with myself.
Anyways.... onto some 5QF!

1. What do you do when you have time to yourself? uhh, lately I am never alone but If i have some alone time, I sleep. Yeah really fun, eh. Seriously sleep is not over rated. I used to grab a good book but reading just leads to sleeping.

2. When you look out your kitchen window, what do you see? you look out into my backyard and see our tomato garden that has long ago stopped producing tomatoes, the grill, the kids plastic Little Tikes slide and cozy coupe in their play yard and the woods that have grown into our chain link fence and created a beautiful shaded canopy over the back part of the yard.

3. Who/What would you want to be reincarnated as? an Amish woman. I have always been fascinated with how people lived in the old west and since I don't see our society ever going back to that I would love to experience living off the land. Back to nature, in touch with the Lord in a way that the Amish do it. They live such a simple life and sometimes I'd like life to be more simple.

4. What is your biggest pet peeve about other people's kids? How inconsiderate they are about toys and putting away their mess. I keep the kid's rooms organized and I expect guests to put it back the way they found it. Not drag every toy all over my house and leave it where they finished with it.

5. Regular or Diet soda? Diet. Diet Pepsi to be exact.

Where the Rainbow ends

Wow! Where has the week gone?
After last Friday and handling my emotional roller coaster weekend
I am back to m regular blogging style.
Without further ado..... I am linking up with Mama M and answering some 5QF.
Hey..why not!? She used one of my questions this week!!
Yahoo!!!

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it? Yes, I had a stuffed animal named "Charlie Junior". He was a gift for my 3rd birthday from my maternal grandmother on the last birthday she was here with us before passing away. I loved that ddog and slept with him until middle school. I still have him to this day in a trunk of memorabilia of mine from my childhood.

2. Do you dream in color? yes I do. Sometimes they are so vivid. It stinks when I can't remember the great dreams moments after waking up.
3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller? I am 5'8". I am actually happy with my height and have never wanted to be any other size. It's a very average size and I'm satisfied with it.

4. If you could have anyone's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?I would have to say Ryan Reynolds. He is so yummy and having his voice tell me where to go, well I think I would most certainly use my in vehicle GPS a whole lot more. I would use it even when I know where I'm going to just hear his sexy voice telling me what to do. Who wouldn't!?
5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot?
This all depends on what store I am at and what mood I am in. Walmart and Target have tons of cart corrals so almost 9 times out of 10 I will put it in the corral. At Publix or anywhere else that has limited cart corrals, I usually just pull it in front of my van and make sure it doesn't roll away. And if the kids are "circling the drain" I will leave the cart by the van and go, no matter where I am at.

Last night a storm was coming through with lightning, thunder and dark clouds.
We were preparing to get another bad thunderstorm.
Then it started to clear up and this beautiful rainbow showed up in the sky.
Usually I spot a rainbow and it disappears quickly as it showed up
but this one lingered long enough for me to
photograph it and then sit down and enjoy it's beauty
A rainbow has such a special meaning to me and it rings true
that the Lord will provide. Through all our storms
there is a rainbow at the end. You just have to look for it.

I'm linking up with these great blog carnivals
to meet new people and say hello to some current people
Have a great Friday ya'll!

I need a Bigger Battery

I found this over at Mommy Loves Stilettos if you haven't been over there, then you need to go check her out! Like yesterday!! I checked out her girl who wrote it and went as far back at The Water Witch's Daughter. This went quite far back! So if you're reading this and feeling frisky, consider yourself tagged.

Is it Friday?

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday with an Island Life. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:
If your family was taken care of while you were away, would you
go on the show Big Brother?

I used to think that I wanted to go on this show because it looked so fun.
But now I don't think I could handle the drama that some of
the house guests endure. The backstabbing comes
with the territory because in reality it is every man or woman for themselves.
But the verbal attacks and abuse would be just too much.
I can't stand people treating each other that way
and watching it on the tv is enough. Let alone
being stuck in that house and having no where to get away from it.
No thanks!

Friday Follow- 06/11

Friday Follow

Who couldn't resist following this sweet little puppy dog's
face? I absolutely adore this dog. I was skeptical about a Jack Russell
and especially a female dog but it has been very rewarding
having her around.
I used to prefer male dogs and this is my first female animal besides
the stupid Love Bird that we bought Miss K to replace
the ducks and chickens.
I have always been a BIG dog kinda gal but this little doggy has stolen
my heart, of course second to my baby boy, may he RIP.
I cannot wait until she is done with the chewing stage and she
can sleep in the bed with us. At least don't tell the hubs that.
Shhh.
So anyways .... hop on over to Friday Follow.. Follow me
I'll follow you. It's that simple..

Friday Follow! #2

friday-follow

This is the second week of the new
Friday Follow! So if you didn't join last week
you can still get your post in on the fun today!
Click the button above (after reading my post. hehe)
and get in on the action!

Today I'm trying to feel a little more funny.
I have been having a few rough days even in
the light of being happy on my posts, but honestly
I'm just not feeling like me.
I still have been putting on my happy face
for my kids and husband and trying to
make it through this storm but it's a rough road.
This is not usually my style on here, because I like
to keep my attitude positive and upbeat.
But really, I am human and if I don't write
what is really on my heart than I'd be lying about who I really am.

Here's a dose of some of favorite posts
how about a chapter in my life? or my parenting style
or a life changing moment or my faith.
So if you like me, follow my blog. I'll follow you back and
read what you have to say.
Have an awesome day I'm working on
having one too!
