Top 3 Thursday-Leading Lady

It's Thursday! Wahoo! I go to the gym on Thursdays after work and I'm so excited because I'm starting at the new gym! I can't wait to shed some more weight. Now onto one of my favorite memes...Top 3 Thursday! Hosted by Confessions From a Working Mom and The (Un)Experienced Mom.

If you could be a character in any movie, not the actor or actress but the character, who would it be and which movie?

Heres who I'd like to be..

3. Sabrina, in the movie Sabrina. To come from nothing, travel to Europe where you find yourself and transform into the inner beauty that you are. When you arrive home and find yourself still in love with the man you have always loved, you never lose sight of who are and then discover true love was not where you expected it to be.

2. Isabel, in the movie Stepmom. You're in love with this wonderful man who is divorced with two children. While trying to develop your relationship with him, staying fully dedicated to your job and try to make things work with you insta-family you factor in the children's mother. She isn't letting your mistakes slide until she discovers that she has cancer. Truly a powerful character that Isabel is.

1. Frances or better known as "Baby", in the movie Dirty Dancing. Sweet innocent daddy's girl goes to summer camp with her family and leaves a matured woman. She falls in love with this amazing guy that opens her heart and she in turn shows him what it's like to be somebody.

Top 3 Thursday-Shopaholic

This blog carnival is truly as easy as it sounds...

Each week, The (Un)Experienced Mom and Confessions from a Working Mom will pick a category, then ask you to share your Top 3 thoughts on it.
This week, they want to know...

Where are your Top 3 favorite places to shop?

3. Ebay I love online shopping at ebay because it's convenient and you can find things all over the place. When I was buying my daughter's Halloween 50's themed costume, I was able to locate several places to purchase the items new. I would have spend more money driving all over this state to find what I was looking for. I've bought artwork, trinkets, glass figures, clothing for the kids ( I LOVE huge lots) and Stride Shoes (they are expensive and one of the only shoe companies that make a shoe to fit Little E's feet) and party supplies. It's one stop shopping from home.

2. Kohl's I cannot get enough of them. I was just there this morning as a matter of fact. I was looking for running shoes for me and of course they did not have my size in the show I wanted. I love a store where I can buy decent looking clothes for the whole family and be able to buy coffee (Keurig coffee cups) and so much more. I am always stopping in there to check out their sales and clearance. I have scored some major sales, like $8.00 shoes for me! Yes, please!

1. MY number #1 place is TARGET!! It's the spot! I love that place. There have been some weeks where I will go in there every morning before work. Not to mention that there is a Starbuck's coffee in there, so I can grab me a Frappucino and shop at the same time. I love their selection of Burt's Bees products and makeup selection. It's so pleasant to go into Target in the morning and shop compared to another Big Box store that is so loud and chaotic. They have always had the best selection of goodies for the big holidays like Christmas, Easter and Halloween.

Top 3 Thursday-Heartthrobs

It's a great Thursday! I would like to tell you the reason I am smiling..but until I know more about blogging and disclaimers I will wait. Now for some TOP 3 THURSDAY hosted by Confessions From a Working Mom and the (Un)Experienced Mom!

It's easy, cheesy...as my daughter says.....

Today's Question is...

Who are your Top 3 "guilty" celebrity crushes?
3. Patrick Dempsey. Rawr! I have swooned over him since I saw him in the movie Can't Buy Me Love, long before Grey's Anatomy and his rise to being "McDreamy". I have literally seen that movie over a hundred times. So many times that the VHS tape that it was recorded on probably doesn't even play anymore. I loved him in the movie Made of Honor and continue to enjoy watching him every Thursday on Grey's.

2. Ben Affleck. There's something about his baby face and that crooked smile when he laughs. Ahhh. I love, love, loved him in the movie Armageddon. Actually I bawled my eyes out when I thought they were going to let him die! I love how he plays heroines in the movies he picks, like in Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Changing Lanes. There is just something about his stand up leading roles and masculinity that transfixes me to the screen.

1. Ryan Reynolds. This is my newest heartthrob. *blushing* I saw him on the movie Definitely, Maybe and I thought he was so hot! Then when I saw the previews for the movie The Proposal starring Ryan with Sandra Bullock I had to see that movie! He is dreamy. checking out his bio it says that he is married to Scarlett Johannson, something I never knew. Lucky her!

Top 3 Thursday-Ages of Ages

It's time for this Thursday's edition of Top 3 Thursday. If you haven't ever played along, today is a good time to start. Elizabeth over at Confessions From a Working Mom is having a Birthday blog fest all week in honor of her Birthday but if you join in today's blog hop you can enter in TWO awesome giveaways!!

What are your Top 3 favorite ages?
(or, your Top 3 favorite ages for your kids?)

3. 17, I was a senior in high school, dating my high school sweetheart (who is now my husband) and I was going to be graduating that year. Life was carefree. No worries. Just me, my boyfriend, my high school friends and the beach. Life was good.

2. 20, Not 21!! Haha. I had a few friends where I worked at the time who were over 21 so we used to go clubbing on Friday and Saturday nights every week. They bought me drinks and we danced until the wee hours of the night. My boyfriend (DH) and I were not in a relationship at the time, we were on a break. So I was single for the first time since high school.

1. 25, I was engaged to my husband to be, we were planning our wedding and planning to live together. I was in the time of my life. I was a newlywed and got to experience my first cruise for my honeymoon and I went out of the country for the very first time and it was amazing! I had never traveled that far before. And I was finally not living under my parent's roof and supervision. How's that for one year in my life!

Top 3 Thursday- Birth Certificate

It's Thursday ladies! It's time for some Top 3 Thursday! I've been so busy at work today, and that's a good thing, so now I FINALLY have time to do a blog post. Yippee!

Today's question is
What are your Top 3 Favorite names?

I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with this one. I really love, LOVE my kids names or I wouldn't have picked them. But I'm not sharing what they are. unless you have found them on one of my pages I'm not spilling. So here are a few names that I really liked when picking names for both of my babes, but my husband did not like.

3. Nathaniel or Nathan. My husband did not like the full version of that name. He didn't like the nickname "nat". I really liked it. I even like the girl version Natalie.

2. Christopher. That is such a cute little boy's name. My mom used to babysit a little boy named that when I was a kid and I always wanted to name my child that. I had this two year long crush on a boy in high school with that name. He was such a doll. I think that might have been reason #1 for the hubs to say no to this one.

1. Hailey. This was the first name I came up with when I got pregnant with my first born. But some one I knew picked the very same name for their child, with the exact middle name Lynn. So it was never used.

Top 3 Thursday- I Confess

It's Thursday and I am soo glad for that. For those of you who know don't know what I'm talking about, check it out here. Last night my husband left for a few days of hunting. I had a hard time falling asleep and waking up alone was no fun, but I survived. One night down...another reason I'm even more excited about today because it's time for Top 3 Thursday!

Co hosted by Confessions From a Working Mom and The (Un)Experienced Mom. Today's topic is:
What are the Top 3 Things you should have thrown away, .............like yesterday?
3. My scrunchie collection. I had one of every color to match my outfits and always wore it on my wrist until I needed to wear it. I still have a gallon sized ziploc bag of scrunchies in the bathroom cabinet under the sink. I stopped wearing them a few years ago and couldn't bear the thought of throwing them away. I thought maybe my daughter would want them? Bwaahaahaha! Did you know the elastic goes bad in them?

2. My prom dress. I know that I will never, I mean never fit in to it again. Even if I did fit into it, it's not like I'd wear it to church or something. It used to be hanging in my old closet at my parents house up until a year ago. My mom was cleaning out the closets and sent it my way. I just haven't had the willpower to get rid of it. Those puffy sleeves will never be in style again. Or will they?

1. Notes from my high school boyfriend (which is now my husband) I actually thought I threw them out when Little E was born and we turned the computer room into his nursery. That was 2 1/2 years ago. But recently I opened a container in the new computer room and voila! there they were. I'll have to have the hubs burn them in our burn pit where all the "important" items go to be destroyed. ( I don't trust shredding)

What items are lurking in your house that you're ready to confess about?

Top 3 Thursday-Quirks

Today's blog carnival is Top 3 Thursday hosted by Confessions From a Working Mom and The (Un)Experienced Mom.

What are your Top 3 Quirks?

3. I never leave the house without my hair looking nice and my make up on. I WILL NOT leave the house without my makeup for any circumstance. I was in labor with Little E, with contractions 8 minutes apart and I was applying my full regime of makeup. No kidding. From the foundation all the way to the mascara and blush.

2. I am really Obsessive Compulsive and I blame most of my anal cleaning issues on that part of my personality. One of my worst is going behind and re-cleaning and wiping the counters after meals. I am really bad about it after dinner which is the messiest of meals. My husband tries his best to get the crumbs and food splatter but I most always inspect it later.

1. Wrinkled clothes. I cannot stand to wear my jeans or tops after they have been hanging in the closet on a hanger. Even a t-shirt to wear around the house bothers me if it is over wrinkled. I spray them with a water mist and throw them in the dryer for 10 minutes. This makes traveling really hard and staying in a hotel room. As most hotel rooms don't have a washer/dryer in them. I usually pack my favorite clothes in a hanging travel bag to ensure that I don't have many wrinkles.

Top 3 Thursday- Parenting

I can't believe that it's Thursday already. Where did the week go? I could answer that but it would take me 3 more sentences and it's time for this week's Top 3 Thursday!! Hosted by two great gals at Confessions From a Working Mom and the (Un)Experienced Mom. The question they came up with this week is:

What are your Top 3 favorite things about being a parent?

3. That this tiny human being was created by me. (And my husband of course.) When you give birth to your child, and I felt that way with both of my babies, this overwhelming feeling of joy courses through your body. It's that moment when I look at their face that I know true love.

2. Snuggle time with my babies, no matter what age. I love when your newborn snuggles in close to you and roots to find your breast for feeding. When your little boy is sick and running a fever, he only wants mama close to comfort him. When it's bedtime and your little girl asks you to crawl under the covers with her to read her favorite book.

1. When your child looks up to you to be their protector. To take care of all the nightmares and boogie monsters. The bearer of light when it gets dark in the middle of the night during a storm. The super hero who saves their beloved stuffed animal from a fate worse than death, and washes the dirt away in spin cycle.

I LOVE BEING A MOM! The best reward is love.

Top 3 Thursday- Spring

It's that time for this week's Top 3 Thursday question. And I am running late today. I've usually finished this by now but I have been really busy at work today. Anyways back to the point...
This blog carnival was started by Confessions From a Working Mom and the (Un)Experienced Mom So when you're done reading mine, head on over there and check out what some of the other ladies have said and maybe even do your own.

What are your TOP 3 Favorite things about Spring?

3. I love that we "spring" forward on the time and we gain at least two more hours of daylight in the evenings. For a mom who gets home at 5:45 after work and picking up the kids, this is a blessing. The kids LOVE the outdoors and they can run around the backyard and enjoy themselves while I make dinner.

2. My lawn grows back. Right now I have burnt, dried grass. I cannot wait for my lush lawn to return. This also includes being able to replant my vegetable garden without of fear of anything freezing.

1. The beach!!!! I can't wait to take the kids back to the beach for some fun, sun, water and sand! K has been asking for two months when we get to go to the beach. I am looking forward to the kids Spring Break for some outdoor sunshine fun!

Top 3 Thursday- Blogging

It's time for this week's challenge (or not so much of a challenge) of answering the Top 3 Thursday question.
This blog carnival was started by Confessions From a Working Mom and the (Un)Experienced Mom
So when you've read mine, head on over there and check out what some of the other ladies have said and maybe even do your own.

What are the Top 3 Reasons why you blog?

3. I love to write and I don't claim to be a very good writer but it allows me to vent and get things off my chest. I am able to just talk about things I know or have experienced in my life without being judged by the real people in my life if they don't understand where I'm coming from. If some one reads my work in "blog land" and they don't agree they just don't comment. At least in my experience.

2. INFORMATION, the wealth of knowledge. I am curious about other people's opinions on deep subjects. I love finding great blogs that have tips to share, recipes that they love, great parenting advice and photography how to's.

1. Friendships and meeting new people. I have met (on here) some amazing ladies who write wonderful blogs and have so much to share. I love sharing my loves: my husband and children, with all of you.

Top 3 Thursday- Television

Every Thursday Confessions from a Working Mom and The (Un)Experienced Mom have a blog carnival called Top 3 Thursday. They pick the topic and we answer the question and link back. This week's question is:

What are your Top 3 favorite TV shows?

I admit it I watch alot of television. It's the result of growing up in a household where the tv was and still is alway"s, yes ALWAYS on. It's a habit that is very hard to break but I have weaned myself from the just watching to be watching" lifestyle. Bad thing is that a lot of the shows out there are reality shows like Big Brother, Survivor, Amazing Race, The Biggest Loser, I could go on.... and as much as I enjoy watching "real" people being themselves on tv, I hate to see them go when it's over.
Moving right along cause I'm sure this is what you really want to know....

3. ER I loved this show. I started watching it regularly the season that George Clooney and his on screen flame Julianna Margulies were leaving. What made this show so interesting to me was how they would introduce a new character and at first you may not like them. Then one of your favorite characters either dies or leaves and you find yourself "in love" with the newbie. I did not miss an episode of that show for 10 years. It was broadcast on Thursday nights where I live and my hubby whom I was dating in the early years of my obsession with this show, knew that those nights were off limits. I was so sad to see it go this last year that I refused to watch the last 3 episodes. I still have them saved on my DVR.

2. MERCY My husband got me watching this show. Last year when they showed the preview my husband was very eager to see it and set up the DVR to tape it. I think I was hooked after two episodes. It's got great comedy, some tender love stories and who doesn't love an dysfunctional Irish family. I'm still gunning to see if Veronica's ex-husband hooks up with her new flame's sister. Time will only tell.

1.Nip/Tuck I won't go into to much detail about the show. I will say that I NEVER watch it in the presence of my children. It is rated NC-17 for a reason. I don't watch it for the sex scenes. I really like the character Christian, he is my absolute favorite. Yes, if you have ever seen the show, he is an egotistical, self-centered jerk most of the time but he has his tender, loving moments. I have been watching this show since Season 2 and I am sad that this is the last year. I really hope they answer some questions about things but I'm not holding my breath.

There you have it in a nutshell.

Top 3 Thursday- Valentine Issue

Today's post is in response to Confessions of a Working Mom's new weekly meme Top 3 Thursday. This weeks question is.....
Our inaugural topic is...
What are your Top 3 Valentine's memories?
(Could be dates, movies, restaurants, gifts...)

3. The very first time that my husband( at the time he was just my boyfriend) took me to a restaurant for Valentine's Day. It would have been 1996 and we dined at the Outback Steakhouse Restaurant. He didn't make reservations and back then they did not have "call ahead seating" so we had to wait a little while. But I was pretty much in bliss, so it didn't matter.

2. After purchasing our very first home, we spent our first Valentine's Day eating in. We put our daughter, who at the time was 18 months old, down to bed early and cooked this extravagant meal of steak, shrimp, corn, garlic bread, potatoes and a bottle of wine. Needless to say, we were so tired from cooking this large meal we struggled to eat it.

1. This by far is the most memorable. Hubby and I were dating at the time and he had saved his money to take me out for a nice evening. We didn't know where to go and he wasn't the romantic type so he asked my mom for some suggestions. She looked in the local newspaper in the entertainment section and found an ad for a "fly-in" restaurant near a local, small airport. Let me say, we should have called ahead to see if there was a dress code. That place was the Ritz. Ladies were wearing fancy, sequin dresses and guys were sporting dinner jackets and ties. The place even had a pianist wearing a tux. Boy, did we feel out of place wearing our blue jeans. But..we did our best to enjoy the evening and had a delicious dinner. And of course we'll be able to look back and laugh about it now.
