Simple Woman's Daybook

I've seen this link on some other blogs before
I planned on participating but
not sure why I never did.
The Simple Woman's Daybook.
I'm always searching for something to keep me
wanting more and opening up my creativity.
I really would enjoy the simple life.
I wish I could pack up the family, move to the country in the mountains
and raise my babies in the woods.Back to nature with flower gardens, vegetable gardens, chickens and fresh eggs
barn cats with kittens running a muck and
goats.
Ok. So I think I'm in a dream world again and that life will never happen.
Here's a coffee cup to my quiet evening while
my hubby is at the track watching some Nascar.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... quiet darkness, the neighbors finally stopped their fireworks
I am thinking... about all the things I will be cooking for tomorrow's 4th of July party
I am thankful for... my awesome friend. If only I had great friends like this when I was growing up.
From the kitchen... I made homemade french toast for dinner with the kids and you can still smell the cinnamon and syrup.
I am wearing...a Busch Gardens t-shirt.
I am creating... a new baby book for Miss K with scrap booking.
I am going...to try to remember to buy a new photo frame for my latest pictures of the kids.
I am reading...Sarah's Garden A Patchwork of Heaven Novel by Kelly Long.
I am hoping... that I get to sleep in tomorrow morning.
I am hearing... the fish tank water gurgling because my husband has let it run low again.
Around the house... the carpets were vacuumed and the kitchen floor was mopped.
One of my favorite things... is shopping for clothes for the kids and I am eager to buy school clothes for Miss K. She has outgrown a lot of her stuff.
A few plans for the rest of the week: beach on Monday with the family and friends, dance class for Miss K on Tuesday, Thursday I am having my hubby grill some steaks for dinner. Fresh Ribeyes.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing... the adult cat is Teeko and the kitten is our new addition we brought home from the neighbor's house on Thursday. We named him Oscar. I have a likeness for tiger cats.

Where did 3 years go?

Little E

I've been thinking about the day you were born
since we are approaching your birthday in eleven days.
I started thinking about it on July 1st because it was the day
in 2007 when I had my first false alarm with you.
I thought I was going into labor and we
went to the hospital only to be sent home empty handed.
I was excited and nervous and wished you were coming home with
us not in my womb but in my arms.
I have noticed these past few weeks how much
you have grown this past year.
You are such a smart little boy and you never cease to amaze
me with your knowledge and how much going from
a 2 year old to a 3 year old distinguishes
the change from toddler hood.
I am beginning to miss that you don't need my help
as often and you can be asked to do a task
and you will willingly respond for me.

I am so looking forward to celebrating YOUR day.
You are so cute about your party and you
are so involved in the workings of it.
Having a little boy was one of the best things that our God
gave me.
I thank my lucky stars that he gave me you.

Friday Follow Feature

Hello there fellow bloggers! My name is Tiffany and I'd like to introduce you to my blog My Crazy Kind of Wonderful, because really?! who's life isn't just a little crazy and wonderful all wrapped up each and everyday? My inspiration for my crazy, wonderful life stories is my hubs whom I have been in a relationship with for 17 years and married for 9 and our two blessings Miss K who is 6 and Little E who is 2. If I can't find something chaotic and crazy to inspire me to write about with that bunch how about my house full of animals! ? We've got the dogs, the cat, the bird and even a tank full of fish!
I blog about my love for my kids, my passion about taking photos of them on a daily basis, my life experiences about trying to be a better Christian, mother, wife, daughter and friend. I spill my heart out about my trials in motherhood, friendships, family struggles and the chaos in between. I originally wanted to showcase some of my favorite posts but I had a change of heart and decided to write a new one just for all of you!

***********************************************************

I never imagined that my blogging would turn into what it's become. In high school I took journalism with the intentions of working on a magazine or newspaper writing articles and editing layouts. I enjoyed the design of the pages more than the writing articles. I think what made me decide to not pursue writing in journalism was college English class when I wrote my first paper. I thought that I could pull off this awesome paper about killer whales: my favorite sea animal, and I got a D. I worked so hard on that paper and got a horrible grade. My brother told me that I had good information but my content jumped around too much. My ideas flitted around on paper.

My mind is always racing and coming up with ideas and I can't seem to keep them organized enough to keep the paragraphs making sense. The exact same way I write now.

So blogging is my outlet for my writing. I LOVE to write and when people, my blog friends, comment and like what you write it is so rewarding.

But My Crazy Kind of Wonderful was not born for the intentions of writing, not at first. I enjoy posting about my family, mostly Miss K my sassy, drama queen daughter and Little E my adventurous, brave little boy. They are the reason I started blogging even when I tried writing a few quirky posts but when you have a handful of people reading what you write, you find yourself not writing often enough.

So I started surfing through my followers followers and found some great blogs to read. My favorite part about blogging is when I discover a great article and I don't follow that blog at first and then I come across that blog again and I know it was meant to be. That for some reason I am supposed to connect with with them and read what they have to say. I love those connections you make with other bloggers.

I have to thank several blogs for opening me up though and I won't name names but they are the ones who got me writing. They are the ones I frequent on a daily basis, who give me great ideas to write about and inspire my writing flame.

I've learned along the way to write what you know and you'll always have something to say. If you're writing from your heart and have full knowledge of what you're talking about some one is going to read it and hopefully take something from it.

Five Question Friday- July 4th Weekend

It's Friday!! I am so excited that the weekend is
near. This is just the beginning of many more full weekends
for my family.
Dontcha just love the holidays?
Summer holidays are fun!

1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?
Having no responsibilities and hanging out with my brother's. I never thought I would miss being around my sibling's but I really do. My older brother only lives an hour away but with his busy work schedule as a power plant Operation's manager and his two childrens' busy lifestyles we don't see each other but at holidays and some of the kids birthdays. My younger brother lives seven hours away and I see him twice a year, once when I make the long drive and the other at Christmas when he and his family drive here. We don't talk on the phone too often and I miss the relationships we had as children. When you grow up and marry you begin a new life and siblings are just that...sometimes.

2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?
Yes, I have a few that I keep in touch with via facebook messages since they don't live close by. I have a handful that I speak to on a regular basis and we go to each others parties, houses and get together's. One of my friends who I lost touch with is now one of my closer friends again.

3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?

"Baby Got Back" I get this vision, of a big fat round booty. Nuff said. "Cool Beans" Do you remember that one? Well that one does NOT drive me bonkers but I I used to say that one ALL the time and now I can't even breathe that one.

4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America...besides "Old Glory"?
Free Clipart Picture of The Statue of Soldiers Taking Iwo Jima. Click Here to Get Free Images at Clipart Guide.com

I thought of these soldiers from WWII. Soldiers in general make me think of the USA and our pride for the men who serve our country and protect us. And how fitting that this photo has the Bald Eagle, another reminder of America. Every time I see one of those majestic birds I think of the USA.

5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?

Friday: date night with the hubs. dinner and a movie.
Saturday: taking the kids to a birthday party for a little girl who is the daughter of a friend who's birthday is actually July 4th. Hubs is going to the Daytona 400 or whatever they call it now Saturday night!
Sunday: a kick butt 4th party at my friend's house with a 30' water slide, jello shots, grilling, drinking, fireworks and lots of food!! I LOVE their parties!
Monday: my hubs surprised me and he is off sooo we're taking the kiddos to the beach!!

Thank You VERY Much 07/01

It's Free Therapy Day!! That's right, it's Thursday, which means it's the Thank You Very Much day. The way it works is that you take out all your frustrations on people/things that peeved you off during the week and thank them in a very sarcastic way, for being who or what they are/doing what they did.
This Thursday I am linking up with Kmama at The Daily Dribbles with Thank You Very Much!
But this week Kmama is away on vacation so for this week only, you will need to link up your TYVM with Heather from Oswald Cuties. Heather has graciously offered to host TYVM this week for me while I'm on vacation because I knew that I wouldn't be able to make a visit to your blogs and read your TYVM's.-Kmama

Thank you very much to the County School Board psychologist who called me today about my daughter's testing for the gifted program. When you asked me if I had her Alpha code and I did not you decided you were done with me. As if? Then you told me I needed to call her guidance counselor knowing that she is out of the office until August 9th!!! Thank you VERY much but I am NOT done with you yet!!

Thank you very much to my kids for smearing their greasy little hands on the sliding glass windows everyday this week. I have cleaned them every night after bed and you grease them up daily. I must show you all how to open the door without using your hands on the glass.

Thank you very much to the elderly couple who took the last booth at Chick Fil A today leaving me no choice but to eat at a table. Tables with chairs do not contain small children very well like the booths do.

Thank you very much to the printer and laptop for making my invitation creation for Little E's birthday party take much longer and be so much harder than it should be.

Thank you very much to the GPS in my Honda Odyssey for locating a Chick Fil A on the road I was on and dinging you have reached your location and me realizing that it was in the mall.

Thank you to the gentleman *snort* and his grandson in front of me waiting for the elevator at the science center who didn't read the sign " Please allow all wheel chairs and strollers to enter elevator first". But it worked out well because he wasn't paying attention to the up/down arrow either and got on the elevator going down when he wanted to go up. Too bad for him we got to go down and he had to ride the elevator longer..*snicker*

Writer's Workshop- Who are You

This week I've decided to link up with Mama Kat again and
write a Writer's Workshop prompt.
I chose prompt #1.
1.) Describe someone in your life who you might not know as well as you think you know.

You think you know your friends, right? Sure.
You think you know your family, right? Sure thing, you should.
Then again if your friend is your family you should really
know them, right?
Wrong!
We haven't always seen eye to eye. We've butt heads quite often
but we found something in common with each other and found
a way to get along. We became inseparable and spent
many days and nights chatting with each other.
By phone, sitting in my house, hanging out by the pool
and enjoying each others company. We
had lunch dates and became close friends.
Then some one changed.
I don't think it was me because I have been the same person.
I think that the person she wanted to be came out.
She became less and less available so I stopped trying so hard to be there.
It's what happens when you feel less wanted.
Then recently we reconnected again.
I enjoyed her company again and thought it was going well.
Then she really hurt me.
I have no idea if it was intentional or not.
Whichever it was, I took it personally because it really was an attack
on me. Words cannot be taken back once they are said.
People change when they have children.
Our views about child rearing and upbringing have come
between us. Her lack of information has caused the divide.
Without pointing a finger, she pointed a finger.
I never in a million years would have thought it would have come
down to this.
But when it comes to my kids, I will stand up to anyone.
A N Y O N E
Just when I thought I knew who she was.
Well maybe I always knew who she was
but didn't see it.
